About Us

I’m an interior designer and a lover of travel. Having stayed in amazing and unique boutique hotels, I wanted to be able to achieve that dream bedroom style at home but as I was unable to find the kind of pieces for sale that matched my vision, I decided to create my own. Upon realising that many others also wanted to have their own personalised bedheads and accessories I embarked on starting up Wink.

Through that process, I discovered that the conventional materials used in the making of bedheads are harmful to the environment. I’m passionate about the health of our planet, so I decided to find a better way of doing it. After a 4am brainwave, and a long process of research and prototyping, I am thrilled that Wink now offers products that align with my ethics and that I am proud to offer to you.

Our expert craftspeople create beautiful NZ made products, to your order, right here in New Zealand. We have developed new methodologies to eliminate the usual foam, toxic glues, plastics and unsustainable timbers wherever possible. All bedheads and footstools are made with sustainable New Zealand wool, screws instead of glues, and super low emission timber board. You can rest easy knowing your Wink product is kind to the environment and isn’t releasing harmful emissions while you sleep. 

All feathers used for our cushion inners have been collected ethically and are from New Zealand. Our lampshades do not use the typical conventional plastic inners, use water based glues and are handmade locally. We have carefully considered our packaging choices too, with the environment in mind.

We do not claim to be 100% sustainable and ecological, but we do everything we can across the business to be as kind to our environment as possible. What we can promise 100% is that we make stunning bedroom furniture, designed to be loved and enjoyed for very many years, not just a season.
