2025 Interior Trends Forecast

I’ve put together a round-up of key interior trends - focused on bedrooms, of course - set to inspire interiors in 2025. Curious about Mocha Mousse, Double Drenching, or Touchable Textures?

Mocha Mousse

Yes, this is the colour of the year, according to Pantone—and honestly, it comes as no surprise. The design world has been leaning toward a natural, nostalgic palette for some time now, with warm browns frequently making an appearance. Mocha Mousse fits perfectly into this trend, embracing the comforting, earthy vibes we’re all craving.

Pantone describes it as:
"A warming, brown hue imbued with richness. It nurtures us with its suggestion of the delectable qualities of chocolate and coffee, answering our desire for comfort."

YUM! What’s not to love about that? While some browns can feel a bit meh, this delicious shade stands out. We’re especially into it when paired with complementary lighter tones for a balanced look. Or, for extra pizzazz, soft browns combined with canary yellow or pastel blue is a timeless favorite of mine!

Double Drenching

This takes the ‘drenching’ trend of the past few years to the next level. Instead of dousing every surface in your space with a single standout colour, you choose two or more complementary or contrasting hues of similar intensity—and let them shine together.

The art is ensuring the selected colours are balanced in depth. Decide whether you want shades that sit close together on the colour wheel for a harmonious look or ones that are further apart for striking contrast. It’s bold and not for the faint-hearted!

Touchable Textures

Whether chunky or smooth and buttery soft, tactility is having a major moment. Think touchable textures you won’t be able to resist—velvet in all its forms (especially mohair), chenille with its delightfully fuzzy feel (fun fact: chenille is French for caterpillar!), and of course, the ever-popular boucle.

Boucle has evolved far beyond the ubiquitous cream chair in the corner. Now it’s available in wonderfully rich colours, and even a checkered boucle for added textural oomph. We’ve crafted quite a few boucle bedheads and love thinking about our customers going to bed with a big, cozy ‘teddy bear’ of a bedhead to help them drift off to the land of nod.

When I researched 2024 trends last year, sustainability emerged as a key theme—and it has again this year. But there’s an important shift: sustainability is no longer seen as a trend or a “nice-to-have.” Savvy consumers now expect it to be deeply embedded in the practices of reputable suppliers. To that, we say a resounding YESSSSS!

The concept of sustainability has also evolved. It’s no longer just about environmentally responsible materials, packaging, and practices—it now extends to making conscious choices, like purchasing locally and investing in long-lasting, quality pieces.
